From a Bike and Wagon to Serving Ottawa!

 

Jack’s Outdoor Services is a student-owned and operated lawn care, landscaping, and outdoor services company proudly serving homeowners across Ottawa. The company was founded and is run by Jackson Moon, a student at Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business, with a passion for entrepreneurship, outdoor work, and building something meaningful from the ground up. Since starting in 2020, the mission has been simple: provide reliable service, deliver high-quality work, and treat every property with the same care and attention as if it were our own.

 

What began as a small idea quickly turned into something much bigger. The business started with something simple — a bike, a wagon, and a willingness to work hard. Jackson began helping neighbours with small yard jobs around the Findlay Creek community, taking pride in every lawn, garden, and project he worked on. Through consistency, reliability, and attention to detail, trust began to grow within the neighbourhood. One job led to another as homeowners shared their positive experiences with friends and neighbours.

 

As the seasons passed, that early support helped Jack’s Outdoor Services grow beyond just a few homes. The business expanded throughout Ottawa and surrounding communities, offering lawn care, landscaping, garden installations, property maintenance, and outdoor improvement projects. Every completed job helped strengthen the reputation of the company and build lasting relationships with homeowners.

 

Along the way, Jackson formed a partnership with Roy General Construction and Maintenance, founded by Ron Roy, a contractor with over 40 years of experience in the construction and woodworking trade. Ron built his company on a lifelong passion for craftsmanship and quality, specializing in woodworking and home improvement projects that reflect careful attention to detail and pride in the work. His philosophy centers on following your passions and taking pride in the process of creating something meaningful — values that align closely with the vision behind Jack’s Outdoor Services.

 

Through this partnership, Jack’s Outdoor Services is able to offer larger outdoor construction projects such as decks, fences, and custom outdoor improvements, while benefiting from Ron’s decades of experience and craftsmanship in the trade. Together, this collaboration allows us to deliver high-quality outdoor projects while continuing to grow and expand the services available to homeowners.

 

Today, Jackson continues to grow the company while studying entrepreneurship at Carleton University. What started as a young entrepreneur riding through the neighbourhood with a wagon has grown into a trusted local business serving homeowners across Ottawa.

 

Since starting in 2020, Jack’s Outdoor Services has proudly serviced over 300 homes across Ottawa, built on trust, hard work, and strong relationships with homeowners who rely on us to care for their outdoor spaces.
